Dr. Amy Scanlan with Exempla Oasis Family Medicine in Denver, Colorado

Amy Scanlan, MD
Dr. Scanlan grew up overseas; her dad was an international banker and she followed him around the world as he worked in Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore and England. She returned to get her liberal arts degree at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and began making her way westward. She spent two years in Washington DC working for a health care consulting firm. She then went to medical school in Cleveland at Case Western Reserve University. Finally, she came to Denver for her residency in Family Medicine. It was here that she met her husband and decided to stay. Dr. Scanlan has lived in Colorado since 1996, and she and her husband now have two beautiful children. They love to spend time in the mountains, hiking, camping and skiing.

She chose to be a family doctor because she couldn't imagine doing doctoring any other way. Good healthcare encompasses caring, compassion and competence. Dr. Scanlan strives for all three in everything she does. She loves getting to know her patients and their families. It is a privilege to be present for some of the most personal moments in people's lives, and she feels lucky to have the chance to help her patients through those times.
